We took the kids here due to the reviews on TripAdvisor and I was horrified to learn they still use the styrofoam takeaway containers from the 80's! how can a business so close to the beautiful Great Barrier Reef be using this type of material - we all know it NEVER breaks down and ends up in our oceans. When I queried the owner (?) if I could have my food wrapped instead, she was rude and said no, and that she could not afford to buy cardboard boxes for takeaway. If she can't afford cardboard, why is she allowed to operate? I'll never go back and discourage others to support this business. They need to watch the 'War on Waste'.
If you love a smoothie with your morning nutritional supplements the sit on the Shields Street al Fresco seating and sip your Green Warrior smoothie. While in Cairns we tried several from their extensive menu (some best in the am and others work mid afternoon) and we loved them all. There are heaps of reviews of Frydays seafood and on the night you will read 'terrible' and 'best ever'. The Coconut Crumbed Prawns and grilled Hoki and avocado wrap were yummy.
The chips were soft and mushy. I waited over 15 minutes for chips that were like partially fried mash potato. I am not sure how it could take someone so long to cook chips that were not actually cooked properly. I ate very few of them and threw most of the chips out. They could double as baby food given their soft texture. I would never ever recommend anyone buy chips at Frydays. Bring back the Pizza you used to serve.
We went in a hot afternoon in end May. We had been looking for a place to eat around that area but were tired and just casually selected this one which looked like a fast food shop. We did not expect much other than filling our stomach. But to our big surprise, the food tasted good. We ordered coconut chowder, BBQ beef burger, sweet potato. None of these disappointed us. The ladies serving us were nice and helpful.

Was looking for a not too expensive breakfast and ended up here.The girl serving the till stood out for her excellent service, not only to me but to everyone around. She ran in and out with orders, worked efficiently, adjusted her service to each one of us and greeted people passing by. I bought the breakfast wrap with bacon and eggs. Good value for money.Thank you.
Have been here twice for their acai bowls. First let me say I seen the cashier handle coins and then go and touch granola with out washing her hands and prepare the food!!! They forgot about my order and it took over 20 mins. Went in again 1 week later and service was still so slow. Fish looks very greasy. Bad hygiene practises by staff
Conveniently located, good quality food and smoothies, friendly staff and good outdoor seating. The only drawback is the price which is on the higher side for a fish & chips cafe.
Had a lovely breakfast, great bruschetta and free OJ. Coffee was strong and service excellent. Reasonable prices too.

This places is sooo good! One side of the restaurant which is traditional fish and chips, popcorn chicken etc.
As my first meal in Australia, I was excited to have some fish & chipsTheir prices are quite reasonable.
