We have passed this restaurant many times without stopping but tonight we celebrated some birthdays there with grandkids. Nice shaded outdoor area with a bar and picnic tables. We had inside dining at a large corner table that was comfortable for a large group. Service was terrific and the food was an interesting cross of Caribbean and Mexican. The menu was not extensive but there was something there for everyone, including vegetarians. Portions were good sized and attractively plated. Reasonable wine and beer offerings and while the place was pretty full it was not overly loud. Some parking on site and there was plenty of street parking. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing! The decor fits the theme perfectly and the place is in immaculate condition (except some of the tables were sticky from the wax used). The wait staff (Bianca) were friendly and have a great memory. Nothing was written down and everything was served in perfect order, even with complicated and picky orders. The sandwiches were hot, the plantains were sweet, the fries were seasoned right, and the rice bowl was perfectly braised. The mojitos, mules, and cocktails were the best we've had in a long time! Throughout our visit to the Charleston area, we've encountered quite a few of unsavory restaurants... this is NOT one of them. Fuel Charleston is amazing!
This was one of my favorite restaurants that we visited in Charleston! It's an old gas station converted into a restaurant, which is so cool! The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was unique and creative! The main dish was excellent, and the Taco Fries were amazing too! I was pleasantly surprised by the burst of flavors in my rice bowl, and the added texture from the toppings made it even tastier. The fresh salsa definitely made the dish! I also had a Paloma that was fantastic. This is definitely a place worth stopping by!
We are visiting Charleston for the first time this weekend and decided to give Fuel a try for our first meal out. We ate here for lunch and hands down the BEST jerk chicken sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Hand cut fries are one of my favorites so I was super stoked about those as well! Our service was prompt, our app the quest carne was amazing, the entrees fresh and delicious! 10/10 recommend anyone to give this place a try! The atmosphere is literally a vibe and we loved everything about it.

We traveled in from the city as a group of six and had a wonderful experience. Bianca was our server, and she was fantastic! She took our order and remembered every detail, showing incredible attention to our needs. Her recommendations for food and drinks were spot on. The food itself was excellent, too. I absolutely loved the atmosphere at Fuel Charleston, and I will definitely return the next time I'm in Charleston.
This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is wonderful, and they have a great dog-friendly terrace with plenty of fans. The staff is amazing; our server Madeline was outstanding. Sky welcomed us and our puppies, Anni, making us feel right at home. And by the way, the drinks and food were excellent! The happy hour is even better. Don’t miss out on this place—it’s a must-visit!
My husband I are from Upstate NewYork we are visiting Charleston SC to see family. We ate at Fuel Charleston. We ordered the Grilled Jerk Chicken Sandwich with Pineapple and Bacon with Sweet Potato Fries. The sandwich was delicious one of the best I ever had. We had street corn for the first time also delish! If in Charleston SC a must stop
here for lunch. he started with afteros. the young had burger and pommes. my man had a burger and tried the plan owners. he didn't care about the plantains, but he's kind of a picky meal. I had a chicken salad. was very good. jack was our waiter. he did a very nice job and was attentive. I would recommend this place to everyone.
