Me and two of my siblings came here two weeks ago, just to try out their king (or mega) sized chicken sized katsu curry - look at the photo, it's worth a thousand words. Needless to say, it was worth the $20 ???? Although a few pointers : A) There was a ton of rice, and just enough curry to mix it all in (wish there was slightly more though). If you like your curry to have a ton of curry over rice, then you may *Struggle* ???? B) the size of the katsu (you get two pieces) I think, is kinda random so don't believe the example size at the front of the shop, but I wish we had a bigger serve needless to say ???? We came here specifically for the special $20 giant curry, and I must say, this dish managed to fed the four of us given its impressive size. I reckon for two people who eat a lot, this dish is a good size, but it's probably best suited for three people. The curry was pretty good, packed with veggies and the katsu was decent. Nothing fancy but if you're hungry, you can't get a bigger curry than this. There's just enough curry to rice ratio, so you need to be careful with portioning, and I would've liked a few more pieces of katsu or egg. Located in the Mandarin Centre, Fujiyama Noodle Bar offers noodles and rice and seems to specialise in curries. We ordered curries and were satisfied with their quality, the quantity of curry and their cost. However, we found that the curries were only tepid and not steaming hot. The service is reasonably good; but, sometimes, the staff cannot understand English as well as we would like them to. In light of the above, we would like to return to Fujiyama Noodle Bar if we had to eat at the Mandarin Centre. The greatest appeal of this place has to be the prices. Very cheap but filling portions. Ordered the white tonkotsu ramen and Happy Set D. Quite a bit of food for $21. Taste wise I wasn't a fan of the ramen. The noodles were too soft and overcooked, and broth was average. Set D came with gyoza, a mini wagyu beef bowl, and a mini chicken katsu curry. The curry was probably the best out of this set, but it was all just pretty average. If you're down to your last few dollars but want a meal that will fill you up, might as well give them a go. But don't expect anything to blow you away.. best for a quick cheap bite.

I do some work in the Mandarin Centre and Fujiyama is a regular stop for me for their incredibly cheap lunch meal deals. I think the last one I ate was a large chicken dish, 6 gyoza, and a miso soup for $12. For Japanese venues it is by no means the best in Sydney, the best in Mandarin Centre or even close to either but it is what it is. A cheap efficient venue that I quite like. spooningaustralia.com

This humble Japanese takeaway shop is one of the three Japanese food outlets in the Mandarin Centre. It's for sure not as good as Toraya and their variety of ramen is not as vast as Tonkotsuya. However, I have to give a bit of a credit to their don's (rice dishes), as well as their value meal deals!  Their katsu curry is alright and gyoza is not too bad. if you are after fast and cheap Japanese food, this is probably the place to go.

Possibly the worst Gyoza I've had in my life. Waited 15mins for 10 Gyoza's from a team of unenthusiastic staff to find them literally dumped into a cheap plastic container. Some gyozas were torn, some undercooked and many had burnt tar stuck on them from the uncleaned pan they used to cook them from. This is what you get when you employ students in the kitchen who would have trouble even cooking instant noodles at home. Reserva una mesa ahora

Kinda slipshod in prep n delivery though their ramen is acceptable. Have done both eat in and take aways multiple times. Service patchy. Food is just ok for quick in/out. Though you might wanna explore tonkatsu ya a few steps away for ramen.

Tasty and cheap. Great chicken katsu curry. Only downside for me is watching the kitchen staff handle my food without gloves! Not enough to turn me off regularly visiting this place.
