This is an excellent place if you want dishes that are not typically found on Indian restaurant menus. Beautiful, region-specific set of dishes, with a personal twist of the chef. Everything is cooked from scratch; all ingredients seem very fresh and of good quality (the lamb I had was succulent and melting in the mouth; the chicken my partner had was soft and flaky). Just the right amount of spice and hotness. Lots of special, surprisingly tasty dishes. The only drawback of the fresh/from-scratch cooking is that it takes a long time for food to arrive. But the waited gives you a nice warning and you're relaxed. Have a few drinks from a well stocked bar in the meantime!
Being a Geordie I have been spoilt with Bangladeshi cuisine (huge Banglashi comminty up north) so it was exciting to try an Indian cuisine which was a little different to the norm. The menu was explained to is with pride and insight and we were not disappointed with the food it was very good. The Masala Dosa was delicious as was the lamb dish (mint and corriander) and the aubergine dish with peanut sauce We have already told our Bristolian friends that they must visit and we hope to be back soon!
We enjoyed Ganesha. The dosas were excellent, and the service was so kind and attentive without being overwhelming. Each dish was well-prepared and we were surprised how much we enjoyed our visit at the end. It was such a peaceful, pleasant meal, and afterward we were off to discover a bit more of Bristol!
I booked for a friend's birthday, based on previous reviews, and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially with menu choices, and the food was really good. We would definitely eat here again and recommend to others.

We had made a reservation for a table for six through OpenTable at 10:30 on a Friday night. When we arrived on time, we were informed that the restaurant was closing. Despite showing our confirmation, we were denied entry.
Had a very good meal at the Ganesha. The food was very tasty and good portions too. The restaurant was busy (being Valentines) but we had a very pleasant evening. I would return if in the area again

Dont go here. The service was below par. One of the staff did not even speak respectfully and did not want to serve. It's pretty pretty annoying. So items were cold

I have never had the experience of disrespectful treatment in a restaurant. They are extremely rude and arrogant
