The exterior of the restaurant doesn't reflect the interior decor. I had a reservation for 7 PM but wasn't seated until 7:05. Although the wait staff and hostess were attentive, there seemed to be some disorganization regarding table assignments. The chef appears to be overdoing the lemon flavor. My crab casserole was very lemony, and the mashed potatoes and butter served with the bread were also quite lemony. On the other hand, the chicken piccata had a more balanced lemon taste that wasn’t overpowering. The polenta was well-prepared, featuring a nice crust and creamy center. Probably a local icon but seems dated and worn. Limited menu choices. While the food was good, feel like it was a bit overpriced. Wait staff courteous and prompt. The seafood fettucine had bay scallops instead of the larger ones which I was looking forward to, I should have asked...2 shrimp, about 10 small bay scallops, clams maybe 2 and did I even see any crab? nope. So for $43 it was way over priced. Burrata appetizer was tasty but the baguette it came with was hard and definitely not freshly toasted. I'd not go back but would go again to Cynara which was way better and original dishes.
The food was delicious. I REALLY wanted to understand my server better. I appreciate her coming to work, but speaking quickly with a strong accent doesn 't benefit anyone. I feel like the phrase know your audience would be helpful. I tipped her well,but the three of us couldn 't comprehend anything. We had to have discussions on what was the take away to order. Also, why doyou get a complete sandwich for $18 as a special but only get 3 raviolis for $14. They 're delicious, but I finished my foodbefore my friends. Way before them. No sides. No bread.
The food here is really good. And they change their menu every so often so the choices stay fresh and interesting. It's a nice place to sit down and eat, there's enough space for tables to not be squeezed together, and the decor is pretty nice. Their bararea is pretty great too, they have a good variety of beers on tap and a good cocktail menu. Very fun to visit if you're on thisside of town!

This is our absolute favorite restaurant. Everything on the menu is fantastic, we can’t help but order appetizers and dessert every time! The ambiance is the perfect combination of romantic, relaxing and private. And the staff is always super friendly and accommodating. We can’t wait till next time!
11/10 recommend Gardner’s! It’s one of our favorite places for a nice dinner out. Some favorites are the scallops, bolognese, fettuccine, and seafood salad. They also have great drinks and dessert. Can’t say enough good things about the staff; they are pros! Hope to be back in for dinner soon.
Gardner's is truly a hidden treasure! We enjoyed a fantastic dinner accompanied by excellent service and a meal cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is cozy, adorned with stunning photographs from the region. Their seasonal offerings were both inventive and imaginative. I highly recommend it!
For the price, I was expecting better. My husband had the crab casserole which was watery and I had the only chicken dish available which I felt was just average.
