"Went after tip from TA. We had good food, well seaoned salad. We wondered, however, why the chef cut a traditional Wienerschnitzel in three pieces. No need to do that as it not covered the plate. Little bit overpriced; 18,50€ for a schnitzel.."

Went on a hot summer afternoon during the week. Was my last day in Coburg and I wanted authentic German food. They have a menu in English and the waitress spoke enough to recommend a local beer. They also offer smaller portions of the traditional German dishes. I had the sauerbraten with Coburg dumplings and red cabbage. It was delish and the smaller portion was more than enough for me. I'd go back again for dinner to be able to dine outside once the patio wasn't roasting in the full sun.

Found the restaurant tucked in the corner. We were looking for some good German food and this place hit the mark. I ordered a crispy farm duck with red cabbage and had local beer. Wow the duck was big compared to the US. I devoured it with great enjoyment as this is definitely a treat for me. The rotkohl or red cabbage tasted great and was perfect with the duck. Enjoyed the meal with a couple of beers. Sorry no room for desert but they looked good.

TripAdvisor bought us here and boy was it spot on. Location, decor, atmosphere food and service all amazing. We had the spargel soup with prawns, spargel with coburg sausage and potatoes. All were cooked well and tastes amazing. Had a lovely chocolate baked pudding for dessert. All for a reasonable price. Would not hesitate to visit again. Nice konig pilsner on tap too.

Went based on reviews and it didn't disappoint- lovely Franconian classics - tried but couldn't finish as portion size defeated me. Restaurant is a perfect mix of traditional and modern. Service is attentive but not oppressive. Rating is deserved and definitely recommend
