The restaurant in the Gasthof Sternen has smoking and non-smoking rooms. We were glad we reserved a table when checking in, as several groups and couples arriving on spec were turned away. The menu included several local and seasonal dishes, from which we selected starters of tomato soup and snails in garlic butter, followed by a roast half chicken and a trio of fried Bodensee fish fillets. A litre of local white wine brought the bill to £56. The meal was enlivened by the presence of a coach party of Swabians which included an accordionist providing songs and jokes and the waiters were friendly and efficient in spite of the full house.
