A restaurant where the chef actually cooks himself instead of heating something up: unfortunately that is becoming increasingly rare! It's all the more wonderful that the Engel still cooks their own food! During our visit today, the chef talked a lot: the onions are peeled (and roasted! , the breadcrumbs for the schnitzel are made, and the spaetzle is made in-house. Überlingen im Juli, Sonntag mittags. Auf der Seepromenade stapeln sich die Gäste. Doch nur eine Querstraße weiter ist es deutlich ruhiger. Zwar rollt an dem kleinen Biergarten der Autoverkehr vorbei, doch sehr viel weniger Trubel. Unser Sohn hat das Mittagessen in seinem Buggy einfach verpennt.Die Karte ist süddeutsch und deftig. Schnitzel, Braten, regional und saisonal. Alles richtig gemacht.Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, das Essen war lecker und schnell auf dem Tisch. Die Getränkeauswahl war reichlich. Gerne wieder.

The food was very good and hot when it arrived at the table and it came for everyone at the same time. Everything was respected. We were worried and felt comfortable all around. The quality of food, drinks and staff was just top! We're coming back!

Bin Mittags hier Essen gewesen,der Service hatte nicht mit so vielen Gästen gerechnet, nur eine Kellerin die ihr bestes geben hat, an diesem Tag hat die Küche nicht ihr bestes geben,das Essen war nur durchschnittlich.
Gemütliches Lokal mit guter regionaler Küche und freundlichem Service. Uns hat es so gut gefallen, dass wir am nächsten Abend gleich wieder eingelaufen sind, um weiter Gerichte zu probieren.
