I was visiting friends in Basel and their friends recommended Gasthof Neubad. We sat outside with the temperate weather. It was a lovely setting, forested and secluded, yet the street was 15 feet away. The menu was unique and was written on a chalkboard, which means the chef cooks with whatever ingredients he is able to source. We tried the three course meal, which started with tomatoes and buffalo cheese, covered with a broth. The main course was a beef brisket with a few flavours, like mustard seed. Both were very tasty. Instead of dessert, I had a cheese tray while my friend had dessert. The food and atmosphere were very nice. We enjoyed a nice selection of wines paired with our selection...
