Greeted with a friendly hello, but when we spoke the demeanor changed to nasty and a firm and rude NO! We were refused seating while those who followed us were seated. Our experience across Germany has been nothing but positive thus far, so I hope this was an aberration. Really was looking forward to the potato menu after strolling around Rothenburg all day. We found a nice restaurant Biergarten up the hill that served a very tasty schnitzel and fresh salad instead.
We were interested in an unpretentious dining experience where we could eat traditional cuisine like the locals. This place was one of the recommended places from the Tourist Office. The decor was traditional, warm, and inviting; as were the staff. My husband had the Schupfnudel, and I, the Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and potatoes. It was delicious! I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a traditional dining experience that is unpretentious, and friendly.
Excellent and filling Rahmschnitzel (one of my favorite German dishes). The Wurzburger white wine was very good as well. My wife ordered the Kartoffel Cordon Bleu. Though well prepared I thought it was rather bland compared to my dish. But that is a matter of taste. Waitstaff was courteous and efficient. Located just outside the city walls. We enjoyed a nice walk afterwards. Would recommend.
Found this gem by accident. Very accommodating! Rooms were nice, clean and warm. Great breakfast choice. Dinner was very good. Vegetarian choices also. Prices all around cheap compared to other places with less amenities. Staff were gracious helpful with our needs. 5 min walk to center marketplace.
