Gennersbrunnerhof

Gennersbrunnerhof is one of my old favorite country restaurants in Schaffhausen. Set a little outside the city in the most gorgeous country setting it's great in summer or winter. The winter option inside the wood paneled room with a huge tiled oven for heat is...stunning and you feel the countryside in the atmosphere. The food is fabulously prepared by owner Stefan Gauss in the true Country kitchen style with big portions and delicious flavours. Try the liver and rösti it's out of this world!! In summer, lunch is served under the big trees in the Garden. Great service, and excellent value for money.

After so many years and so much water passed under the bridges I returned to lunch at the gennersbrunnerhoff which is always excellent and attentive to the details while remaining faithful to the tradition of the place. Good.

Living abroad, every time we can spend some days in the region a dinner at the Gennersbrunnerhof is a must. Straight forward, no nonsense, excellent Swiss food prepared by Stefan Gauss, the owner, himself, is a treat!
