I recently had the pleasure of trying the famous pies at Stu's new restaurant. They were just as delicious as I remembered. My family and I enjoyed a fantastic meal, with Steak and Ale and Rabbit pies paired with some delicious real ales. The addition of 10 more taps for real ales was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend making a reservation, as the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, professional, and very knowledgable about the ales. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.
Lovely pub, very friendly staff and great food. We went here for Sunday lunch, lovely atmosphere and a nice view. I am coeliac and so have to have a gluten free diet and the staff were able to adapt the roast dinner to gluten free including gluten free gravy. They reassured me that this was free from cross contimatination and I did not have any reaction. Very impressed by the service. Thank you
The George Dragon is in my opinion the best pub in Yorkshire. Been going for 6 years and although it’s had a few recent changes of landlord and is on the look out for another, as a community owned pub it is an absolute pleasure to visit. At the moment only serving Sunday lunch but worth the trip for that alone and plenty of choice of great beer. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.
We stopped into the George Dragon for a pint packet of crisps each as sustenance on a walk with our dog. The drinks were excellent, crisps tasty, dog treats well received, views fabulous staff very friendly. We'll definitely be returning plan to book Sunday lunch soon.

Amazing food, great service. The steak and ale pie was amazing and hubby said the rabbit pie was too. Really good value for money, very generous portions. An amazing selection of beers, shame we were driving! A very warm welcome and a lovely lunch. We will be back!

We stopped in for lunch as it was conveniently located near the A1 while traveling from Cambridge to Newcastle. The food was reasonably priced and the staff was very welcoming. We will definitely revisit this restaurant on our next trip.
Delicious food. Good portions, tasty veg and tender meat. Plenty of gravy. Deserts also yummy. I had the lamb and the rhubarb and apple pie. Speedy and very pleasant service from the village volunteers. Highly recommended

Great Sunday lunch from Stuart and Keith. Super beer, in a comfortable country pub well loved by locals from far around! What could be a better way to while away some time with friends and family
