George's Tradition

We were celebrating an 80th birthday party and there were around 16 of us. Had to wait an age for the food to come and we had 5 hungry young children with us. One of them was served last and was upset that everybody else was eating! Some of us ordered the fish chips and peas and an extra side of curry sauce which arrived 10 minutes after the main dish (having asked where it was on several occasions) which had gone cold by this time. When it did arrive, I'd have been embarrassed to serve the stuff as it was so thin and watery tasteless. A group of us (around 12) had a reservation on a Tuesday night. Young boy serving was efficient, really friendly and helpful! Food was lovely. Alcoholic drinks slightly expensive and I think the hunters chicken would be improved by serving with chips not roast potatoes...

Very central location in an attractive building. We were a large booking with different dietary requests. Our server, Alex, was so helpful in recommending the best choices on the menu. The restaurant was quite busy when we were there but the service was still good....
