Giovanni's Pizza And Pasta

We ordered a rigatoni bolognese and a margherita pizza. The pasta came out of the kitchen piping hot and was cooked perfectly. The portion was huge. The pizza had a thin crust, sweet tomato sauce with small chunks, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil. The crust was flaky and light. The menu offered a variety of items and was more of a full restaurant than a “pizza shop”. The owner and his son were there and we were talking with his son, an adult who returned to NJ to take over his dads business. He was very friendly and genuinely personable. I highly recommend Giovanni’s!

The absolute worst Sicilian pizza ever!I ordered a corner piece and the guy picked up a piece sitting on a table and bagged it...did not heat it.It was cold and had flat...no taste other than a chemical garlic taste. Barely any tomatoe sauce and cheese that I almost don't want to call mozzarella! I paid $3.50 for a thick slice of soft bread!Regrettable choice on my part.....should have gone the extra mile to Rose's in Garfield!!! They never disappoint!!!Kid-friendliness: The place was loaded with kids from the high school! Bad timing!

General first impression was really good! Most important, the food I ordered was exactly what I wanted crunchy onion rings (best I've had in years and came with marinara sauce), disco fries with perfect gravy to cheese ratio, and a chicken ceasar salad to pretend I'm healthy. No skimping on anything, all fresh. Makes me wonder how good their dinner dishes might be
