The food was pretty good. I had the fried fish, fried okra, black-eyed peas, and green beans. All were nicely seasoned and not overly salted. The bus man Charles was exemplary and so gentlemanly. Our waitress was quick to serve, helpful, and kind. So why only two stars? We were a party of five. The young lady on the cash register made a mistake when initially told how many were in our party. Instead of accepting that she made a mistake, she began screaming at our party and being very rude. She was so discourteous, so inappropriate, so unwelcoming. This cashier has no idea at all what customer service means. We shared our concerns with the manager but that negative situation cast a pall over our entire dining experience. If ever I should visit Florence, South Carolina, I will not return to this eating establishment.
The food was great! Our waitress was so pleasant and cared for us! My only complaint was over the steak! My mouth really wanted this steak, I just couldn't wait to put it in my mouth. Then it happened so much Gristle and could not cut it at all! The worst steak I ever had!!! I had to remove it from my plate and me for the grilled chicken! The chicken was good! My recommendation is not to try Steak!! This is, unless you like a mouth full of gristle and not able to cut it with a knife! I have tried so hard to eat this because I don't like to shed food, but the people I was finally able to get a piece in my mouth and I couldn't chew it at all, I had to spit it out and get something else!
I went to Golden Coral for the first time on Monday with a friend and the food was delicious. We went back today and the food was EXCELLENT. You didn't miss the big taste. All I had was seasoned to perfection... chicken, topped greens, roasted okra, rice, roast beef and liver onions. Whoever the cook was! If I could, I would have given the chef a tip for a well done job. The food was better today than on Monday. The waitress was very friendly, attentive and helpful. The partially eaten chicken is not important. I forgot to take a picture before I eat on Monday. The second picture comes from today.
There was a line to get in. The service was great. She was constantly checking to see if we needed water. The bathroom was dirty. We told our waitress and she immediately tended to it. There were too many tables with plates and stuff from people who had already left. The price is a little much
