The recently opened Gordon Bleu has been a very welcome addition to the Ballan/Gordon/Mount Egerton triangle, being warmly embraced by us locals. Love the breakfast of eggs bacon mushies avocado & feta on sour dough, and chef is always willing to please and cook eggs the way you like them. Also love their VERY yummy peanut butter & caramel milkshake - there's also a Turkish Delight milkshake. Recently attended a special Australia Day dinner which was enjoyed by a packed house (see photo of our group out the front). The front signage has been there so long I thought it was never going to open. Glad it did.The menu consists of an all day breakfast (which I'm sick of seeing on all the local menus), focaccias and light fare.I ordered the lamb focaccia and my friend ordered the eggplant lasagne. The lamb had a bit of kick to it (but I'm not good with spicy food) and the eggplant lasagne was not a traditional lasagne but my friend liked it. We both ordered fries each but we probably could of shared one instead. I also asked for red onion on my focaccia but didn't get it, not a bother but to me it shows the chef only follows a set menu.The staff are nice enough, one of them when we were asking questions const...
I'd heard about this café/restaurant in out-of-the-way Gordon, not a place known for its cultural contribution to the world, that had great coffee, food and atmosphere. We went midweek and were not disappointed. It's quirky, a bit British, has a tasty middle eastern menu, but still with a reasonable range of meals to cater for different tastes, with flavours that compliment each other. Our food was beautifully cooked. Service came with a smile, a chat and a nicely recommended wine. Great for a Sunday afternoon visit, midweek lunch or even a special event if you're looking for something just a bit special or different.
Had lunch here recently with a group of friends and was very enjoyable. The old pub has a great and relaxing atmosphere and is a good setting for a meal, drink and a wind down. The meal was great ,tasty and went down well with a nice cold beer. The menu had a lot to offer without being extensive whilst there are numerous wines beers and various refreshments to choose from. Add to that, it is very reasonably priced to.The owners and staff make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. They are friendly, attentive and nothing is too much trouble.Wiil be Back

This cafe - bar - meeting place is open Thursday thru till Monday. It's quirky with a very casual atmosphere. We enjoy calling in for a coffee, hot chocolate, breakfast or lunch. Friday nights are more lively, usually with music and 'Tasting plates'. Food is good quality, well served with good friendly customer service. Great meeting place for locals or visitors alike.
We ventured out on a cold wet Friday evening as a group of 13. The staff looked after our table really well. The normal menu wasn't available, it was pizzas and share dishes. We all enjoyed our food, there was some easy listening music and the place has a good feel. It is rustic, quirky and very relaxed. It is worth the short drive from Ballarat.
If you are in the area drop in to this place I'm not sure when it is open though so checkIt has been a real gamble for the guys who started this place and I hope it is successful for them. we need to support this type of enterpriseI had a very interesting breakfast great coffee good prices and quite cosy atmosphere.
I congratulate the people behind Gordon Bleu - it is a great initiative for Gordon which is a lovely town and growing - hopefully many others will try it and enjoy some really great service and food. Well done.

Meals are tasty, a good size for lunch and well priced. There is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We've eaten in most of the pubs and cafes in the surrounding area and Gordon Bleu is our favourite by far.
What a find in Gordon. Fantastic range of meals at realistic prices. Great friendly service in a laid back relaxed atmosphere. Best coffee in the West
