If I could give this restaurant a negative rating, I definitely would! I visited their food truck and was looking forward to getting fried catfish, shrimp, and fries. However, when the food arrived at our house (just 2 blocks away), I was extremely disappointed. The French fries were undercooked and hard, with a cold center. The catfish was not fully cooked and the shrimp were still gray. When I called the restaurant to speak to the owner about the issue, they initially denied any responsibility until they realized it was their food truck. They then asked me to return the food with the receipt for a replacement, but I was not willing to eat their food again. They refused to refund the $13.99...
Gramps has updated their menu! Now serving steak, hamburgers, and some new appetizers! The new menus look GREAT and there was a really good crowd in the house last Thursday evening. Of course service is ALWAYS the best at Gramps. I don't live in Maumelle but I always enjoy an opportunity to dine with friends at my favorite catfish place. Friendly, family-loving (there was a birthday party for a young man, looked to be around 5 or so, while we were there and just a comfortable pleasant experience all around. Thank you Gramps for YOUR work and all you do so we feel welcome and can relax and unwind around a delicious meal in a family atmosphere!
We were looking for a local restaurant to celebrate a special occasion and we were not disappointed with this place. The service was excellent and friendly, and the food was delicious. The fried catfish was amazing, with plenty of tartar sauce (which is important for me, as I have a sensitivity). The onion rings were top-notch, the coleslaw was the best I've ever had, and I appreciated that it was brought out as an appetizer like chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and the prices were reasonable. This restaurant is a must-try and if I lived nearby, I would definitely be a regular customer.
Really good food ! We ordered over the phone catfish. Had the catfish grilled and breaded options, hush puppies and choice of 2 sides . Really good food, all of it, from onion rings , hush puppies … couldn’t stop eating until it was gone . It took 10 minutes to be ready . Very reasonable prices for healthy food , it is the same price as not that healthy fast food . Definitely the best choice for us trying to eat tasteful and healthy food.
I highly recommend trying the Fried Catfish with Fried Okra and Hushpuppies, as well as the Fish and Shrimp Combo with Pinto Beans and Onion Rings. Both dishes were delicious and left me completely satisfied. Overall, I had a great dining experience and would definitely return to this restaurant in the future.
Owner was very friendly. Food was good and service fast. Really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, fried okra and potato salad. Prices are reasonable. Catfish wads a little salty and just slightly overcooked for my taste. Would visit again. Men's restroom needs a deep cleaning.
