Although we live quite close to this restaurant, we were hesitant to give it a try due to the negative reviews we had heard. However, our experience was entirely positive. We ordered the egg drop soup and the General Tso's Chicken combo. The General Tso's Chicken was excellent, with just the right amount of spice. The egg rolls were decent, but the egg drop soup was truly delicious. The only downside was that I had ordered white rice but received brown rice instead, though it was still tasty. Don't let the unfavorable reviews discourage you from visiting!
This might be the best Chinese food restaurant I've found in NC. Now, it's still fast food Chinese in NC so if you're from the north (like myself it's important to manage expectations. My go to order is wings and chicken lo mein (make sure to grab some extra soy sauce for flavor . The wings are perfectly crispy and flavorful even after 15-20 min drive. My husband orders the generals chicken but, it's quite bready in my opinion. If you've been disappointed with all of the other local places, give Great China a shot, you'll likely to be less disappointed. :

I am from DC. And the Chinese is all right. It has been bagged not authentic at all!!! who has orange rice with no veggies and no bean sprouts!!! And when you order something spicy it tastes bland. I could put pepper on it and make it better. But I may have higher standards. I actually can make better) When you’ve had the best you can’t go back. It really is not authentic Chinese. And I will leave that alone. For the price, make your own.Parking: Plenty!

Absolutely agree with the other reviews. The fried rice was completely devoid of any ingredients. My black pepper chicken was deep-fried and just had pepper mixed into the batter—what a surprise! I've never encountered deep-fried black pepper chicken before. The egg roll was burnt and had a strong smell of old oil. No way I'm returning to this place again.
This is the fifth time they forget to put the noodles for my egg drop soup.The only reason why I get food from this restaurant is because they are close to my address. The response I got to today when I called to ask them to be aware of this mistake was not an apology. The employee that answered responses was “ they always put the noodles”
Meh. Food lion next door has better Asian food than this place. . Fried rice had nothing in it. Literally just rice with soy. No veggies and pork in it, which is standard. People aren’t friendly at all. The portions are small.Won’t go back.
I’m surprised by the reviews. This place was pretty good. I’m eating the happy family as I type this and it was excellent. I would recommend anyone to try the happy family. One of the best dishes I’ve in quite some time.Food: 5/5

I ordered the shrimp fried rice, and it was decent. However, the shrimp were extremely small. I usually request extra shrimp, but I could hardly tell if I received any additional ones. Overall, I would rate the food a 2 out of 5.
