There were 4 of us going for Halibut and Chips on Friday. The other couple had reserved that afternoon, and followed the directions of the ad placed by this restaurant, tried to book the number of pieces of halibut we would need. She was told by the restaurant manager that it wasn't necessary, there would be no problem. Our reservation was for 6:30. At 6:50 our waitress took our order and at 7:20 she came back to tell us there was not enough Halibut to fill out four orders. There was,however, some 'bits and pieces' that could be served and they had cod. Would we be interested. Needless to say, not happy. We informed her we had booked ahead, were told no problem. I'm still smiling over my luncheon experience here yesterday. It was the perfect day, sunny, bright and my friend and I opted to sit out on the patio. We had a fantastic server plus repeated visits and conversation from and with the executive chef - and a wonderfully memorable meal. Fresh, local food, ingeniously prepared, with unique twists made our meals something like a Christmas morning; each item on our respective plates was an exciting discovery. Never let it be said that a simple burger and fries can't become gourmet - mine was. And my friend's pulled pork was melt in your mouth - and apparently seventeen hours in the making. I have waited, because this Morningstar Golf Club-Grill on the Green- is a carefully kept secret. Because I am sharing this with you, it could cost me a reservation, so don't rush. On Fridays they have a fish (halibut) and chip dinner that is one of the best you will ever have. You can split fries and salad. My friends and I go every Friday. The service is great, and the atmosphere is warm and congenial. But you have to reserve early.

I have eaten here several times and have often been critical of the food. A lot has changed, however, based on the past 3 visits. The burgers are huge; fires are hot and crispy; the flatbread pizza is excellent. My wife had a quesadilla which was 'soggy' so I can't give it 5 stars. The chef is amazing, so impressed with how he comes out and talked us, even offered us free deserts to try, which were to die for they were so good. I cant believe the prices in this place! One of the last places you can find reasonably priced foods and alcoholic beverages! We will definitely be back!

Love this place , food is always great . Service is always top notch , relaxing atmosphere & do not have to be a golf member to eat Breakfast , Lunch or dinner here also available bookings for tournaments , party's, events & weddings or Such ! ;)

In Morningstar golf Course, but most locals enjoy this for lunch, supper or just coffee with a view. Friday is fish and chip night! Worth popping in if you're in the area, for a drink and snack.
