When we first walked into the restaurant, it was very crowded. An excellent sign. The atmosphere was lovely. The staff was very welcoming. Our waitress gave us an English menu then we asked for a German one too. Gotta keep learning! Our meals were good...portions with wine and beer Alles Gut! Our tummy was happy. We would eat here again Now...to the artistic side of Grosser Meyerhof. The first thing I noticed was the artwork on the menus. Beautiful and cleverly done. It really brought me joy! At the end of the meal, I mentioned to our waitress that I love the artwork on the menu and she pointed to the lady who is The Artist. The waitress mentioned that The Artist makes her own Christmas card...
I went there with my colleagues as I was in Freiburg on a business trip. We were quite a big group and I actually wanted to sit all together, but the bookes tables were set separately and for some reason somehow the staff saw a problem in joining them. In the end they've done it.The food I ordered wasn't what I expected for a main. The dumplings were small, did not have much taste and seemed to be ready to sell frozen food. But the salad was great. Beer as well. And the restaurant is in a old and very nice building.The service could have been nicer. Maybe that's the way peaople are in this part of Germany. That's my first review that's so bad. Meyerhof is gevestigd in het stadscentrum van Freiburg. Met collega's reserveerden we er op een doordeweekse avond voor een diner. De menukaart (zie foto's) bood veel aan, maar omdat het aspergetijd was koos ik daarvoor. Het resulteerde in een goede maaltijd, maar ook niet meer dan dat. De bediening was op het randje van onvriendelijkheid. Na 21 uur is hier geen activiteit meer, begint de serveerster de tafels klaar te zetten voor de volgende dag en wordt men geacht het dessert snel naar binnen te werken en te vertrekken.
Hier stimmt es einfach: die Portionen beschränken sich nicht nur darauf, groß zu sein, es schmeckt auch richtig gut und die bodenständige Küche kommt ohne Rucolablättchen hier und Mozzarellakirschchen da aus. Preisklasse absolut stimmig. Kleine, aber durchdachte Karte, tolle Stimmung, herzliche Bedienung - wir hatten bei herrlichem Wetter einen der Außentische ergattert und waren rundum zufrieden. Unbedingt eine Empfehlung!

Wir waren zu 4 im Grosser Meyerhof und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, es ist korrekt das es etwas Laut ist aber es ist ein Traditionelles Restaurant in der Innen Stadt. Der Service ist Freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Speisen waren sehr gut und die Portionen sehr gross, vorallem bei den Käsespätzle würde ich die kleine Portion empfehlen ;-). Wir würden es wieder Besuchen.
Deutsche Küche zum fairen Preis in geselliger Atmosphäre und sehr netter Service. Am Wochenende abends immer reservieren. Sehr zu empfehlen sind auch die Theaterstücke (dann mit Menü), zu denen aber vorher Karten gekauft werden müssen.
Es waren viele Gruppen anwesend und dadurch extrem Laut.Essen war soweit Gut aber leider war das Schäufele nur lauwarm.Die Toiletten waren sauber.Die Bedienung war etwas Konfus.

We had a late lunch. Lovely old restaurant/entertainment venue (downstairs). Staff were lovely. Meals were delicious and the servings huge!
Urig und rustikale Gastwirtschaft, sehr nette und witzige Bedienung. Das Schnitzel war dem Hammer. Nur zu empfehlen!
