Gus's Bbq South Pasadena

The food was very good and I am picky about barbecue places. I loved the baby back ribs, pulled pork, the greens, and grits. The deviled eggs were good but did not like that the put sweet relish in it. I didn't eat the brisket because it was really fatty. I got a **** Mary and was not a fan of it, though. I used to live in South Pasadena for 6 years and never tried this place. I wish I would have! Parking: There might be about 20 spots on the side of the restaurant. You need to drive in right after the restaurant or you will miss it. There are some spaces right by the back entrance. There is also some parking out front and on the street behind the restaurant. The cornbread was great. The nachos were very mid. The picnic platter was pretty good but it only comes with 4 ribs. Had I known that I would have gotten a rib plate. That's my fault though. Tri tip sandwich, bread was soggy and it tasted a bit over salted. I didn't personally try the peppercorn Tri tip but my wife said she felt it was overpriced for the amount that was on the plate. The service this particular night was pretty poor. We had plates stacked up on the table for a prolonged period of time. We never got any refills and our dessert came out 20 minutes after we ordered it.

Great location with dedicated parking. You can smell the smoke in the air. The bbq was good and tender. All the sauces are great. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be returning

I love BBQ and was excited to try a new place. Nothing my party ordered wowed me. We sent a couple of the sides back and the replacements were just ok. The waitress was pleasant Reserva una mesa ahora

Great taste! Excellent service! One time my French fries came out cold, a server believed me from just looking at it, reported it to the Cook, properly, replaced the side.

Everything is good here! Food, service, and ambiance. Delicious!! Great family atmosphere for kids and adults.
