This place was awful. On top of the food being horrible, once we walked in, there were several dead lantern flies EVERYWHERE on the floor. Honestly stomach churning, that was my first red flag and it made my skin crawl. We’re seated and my table was sticky and the staff kept SHOUTING at each other. It is impossible to hold a conversation or train of thought with the kitchen staff screaming at servers and the servers screaming at each other from across the room. I've always had a good time at gyu-kaku. The meat, generally, is great and the social activity of grilling with your friends can't be beat. Sometimes the meat can be a bit sinewy and I've had some disappointing appetizers, but nothing that's ever ruined my experience or I've had to send back. The drinks are far too sweet for me so I generally order beer or stick to H2O. Service is decent. The servers themselves are curteous and happy to fulfill small requests when possible, but sometimes flagging them down can be difficult. INSANE!! Not what it use to be!!! Hope the other locations are doing better. I won’t be back to this location. Service was terrible. We had 9 people and they sat us in an 8 seat table so we were squished. The seats were odd as we were lower than the oven so it was tough to reach in a cook the food. They kept bringing food to the table when we were not done and didn’t bother to ask if we were ready. So there was no room on the table. It felt rushed and unorganized. Seats were so uncomfortable, the decor is old and falling apart. Took 15min to get a fork, guess the waitress took a break. This was the Third Avenue location

We had a wonderful dining experience celebrating both of my daughters' birthdays yesterday. The food was amazing, and the service was exceptional. Our server was incredibly patient, friendly, and provided outstanding service. We were extremely pleased with our experience and look forward to returning in the future.
Not really sure what to make of this place. Our party had a good experience but nothing really stood out. The food was good but not memorable. I would recommend this place for those who never been there but it’s probably not a place I’d go back to. However, I’m glad I went. No matter what, don’t get the ramen.
We had noticed this restaurant for years but never had the chance to try it until the Restaurant Week. Everything is so fantastic there that we'll be back and gladly to pay the regular price!
Corner table in back server barley came over. Dirty plates sat there for hours. Had to ask for flame to be turned down as it got high and dangerous. Don't sit at a back corner table.

Go when it’s happy hour. It’s more affordable, that’s my tip. But the food is great. Drinks are amazing. Worth every dollar
It's annoying when constantly counting utensils to hand out, knowing 4 people are at the table the whole time.
