I stopped by this restaurant while traveling for business and tried a variety of seafood platters from different places. This restaurant was just one of those stops. The catfish was quite tasty; it had a light breading that complemented its flavor nicely. The shrimp, on the other hand, was lightly seasoned and breaded, but I was hoping for a flavor closer to that of the catfish, which left me a bit disappointed. The crab cake was decent, though not the best I've had—it could have used a bit more flavor and better frying. The hush puppies were solid and enjoyable. I took my dad, George, here for fathers day. Everything I ordered here was delicious. We got a dozen raw oysters and a dozen charbroiled oysters and a cup of the seafood gumbo and everything was phenomenal! Ali was a fantastic waitress with a lot of personality and charm, she was very kind and kept up with us and she made sure we had a good time. The restaurant is themed like classic new orleans with a great new orleans mural on the wall and creole jazz music playing. Wonderful place with wonderful food, I would definitely come back. Don't listen to the outta towner folk who don't know what good food is! Good food is spicy cajun food all the way!!
The food was predictable. Following a borderline annoyed hostess we had Breigh C. as our server and she was excellent. She was literally doing the work of two people as they had no bartender that night. But foodwise mediocrity was the deal unfortunately. Smoked tuna dip was bland. Crab cakes were also pretty tired. The Redfish was the real disaster. This chef apparently dumps Parmesan cheese on everything. Hint: Parmesan cheese is not a big part of creole/cajun cuisine and does not go on redfish-ugh. We asked another server about this and they said it's the chef. Get another chef.
I visited today for a late lunch and tried the oyster sampler, which was enjoyable, even though I'm not a big fan of oysters. I ordered the ribeye steak, accompanied by cheesy grits and sweet potato crème brûlée. The grits were just okay, but the ribeye was outstanding, and the sweet potato dish was excellent. For dessert, I had key lime pie, which was very good as well.

My fiancé and I were in Lafayette and wanted oysters so we decided on this spot. So glad we did it was Awesome!!! My family calls me a food critic. We ordered the oyster sampler for an appetizer. I ordered Big Easy Surf and Turf served with sweet potato creme brûlée and Cajun boiled Parmesan and garlic fried new potatoes and my fiancé had the seafood sampler.
STAY AWAY… Started with filthy silverware and food on one of our napkins. Gumbo tasted good but Luke warm. Crab cakes, same cold. Crab claws have no taste, but we’re warm. It was 11:30AM. 4 couples in the restaurant. No reason for cold food. We used to love this place but after 4 similar experiences I’m done.Food: 2/5

This was our first visit and everything was incredible! The service, atmosphere and food all exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to the area.
