We visited Malabar Restaurant with high hopes for their South Indian fare and they completely exceeded our expectations. We went with the (Mellagu) Tiger prawns and a simple samosa for starters. The prawns were beautifully cooked with peppercorns giving us the hint of pepper while still being soft on our palate. The samosa was reminiscent of the onion Samosas famous in Chennai. We were tempted with the Kerala fried chicken being served to the next table and immediately ordered one for us. It was everything we needed for that raining evening. (On hindsight, we would have loved to have that with some chai). For the main course we opted for Goat Mappas and Chicken Chettinad with their Kerala Pa...

I used to live in Pyrmont, so I often dine at this restaurant with family and friends. I've even had some dates here, haha. Every time I come to this part of Sydney, I park on the side or inner street (between Pyrmont and Harrison Street) next to the Paragon building (it's the cheapest parking I know of). You can sneak in to top up if you've gone over the parking limit, just in case you haven't finished dining within an hour or two, lol. I really used to enjoy the Japanese food here, especially before they changed management. It was disappointing when they stopped serving the 'deep fried oyster,' which was delicious. However, I still love their Sushi and Sashimi. The place is clean, the food...

It's one of the top notch Indian restaurants in sydney, a must visit place to feel authentic south Indian taste. I order Masala dose Garlic n Pepper soup The taste of the soup is awesome and pepper spicy and garlic taste I can really feel. It's a great place to dine in with family as the atmosphere is so good. Service is nice, they are very polite. The price is decent compared to the Harris park Indian restaurants and it's worth it to pay. It opens at 12pm, I visited this place at 1pm. There is a decent crowd in the restaurant.

Great setup. Had a very fine dining feel for a curry house. The vegetable samosas were basically a French onion soup pastry rather disappointing the garlic and cheese naan (though needing more garlic for my own palate) made up for it, and the fish curry ling in this case was excellent. I also grabbed a beef vindaloo takeaway to have tonight, so I can check out how they do on the heat factor. For the record, service was impeccable. Happy to return for that alone will just pick a different starter! Reserva una mesa ahora

We had the seafood banquet for 8 people. The service was very good and all the food was fantastic. The prawn starter was very tasty and the dosa was nice and crisp. All the mains were very good. In particular the fish and chicken were great. Definitely the best Indian meal I have had in years.

The bes thin about Hamachiya is the freshness of the seafood. The sashimi here rivals the best in Sydney. The sushi and sashimi boat at $34 the last time we were there is a steal. The rest of the menu is pretty standard, but we consistently make the trek here for the fresh sashimi.

The highlight of this place is the delicious food, although the decor and furnishings are a bit inconsistent. The quality of the food is excellent. The service was fantastic and while the atmosphere may resemble a casual takeout spot, it is still worth a visit. Reserva una mesa ahora

I have been dining at this restaurant in Sydney for about 7 years now whenever I visit. The service is always friendly, and the food is fresh and tasty. It's the perfect spot to unwind after a busy day at a conference or exploring the city as a tourist.
