We've been visiting this restaurant for nearly 20 years, and this was our first time dining inside since the pandemic began. The service is consistently good, and the food varies between good and excellent; I believe the inconsistency is more about the chef than the dishes themselves. It’s difficult to feel completely at ease in a restaurant right now, and I found myself a bit preoccupied with that. We ordered a Rainbow Roll, a Dragon Roll, and Salmon cut rolls, all wrapped in soy paper. The beer was spot on. Overall, it’s a great place to eat and reasonably priced compared to other options.
This seafood restaurant offers generous portions, quick service, and incredibly friendly chefs and staff. Jonathan, the chef, is approachable, engaging, and professional. As a family-run establishment, they truly excel in customer care. I enjoyed some of the freshest uni from Santa Barbara—so delicious that I wish I could have had more! I can’t wait to return and be warmly welcomed by this wonderful family and their restaurant.
We were in town for a quick visit. They have a great happy hour. Monday through Thursday 4 to 6, 50 percent off sake and beer and buy two rolls get one free. Everything was very good. Service was quick. Food was quick. And the miso soup was great.

We have been going to Hana Haru since Brian and Kim owned it so about 20 something years. We always get greeted with a smile and ' would you like the usual? ' love it!
I can't believe it took me so long to return! My taste buds had been craving some grilled fish collar for ages. It didn't even matter which type—just get me some!
Love this restaurant.. everyone is so friendly and the fish is fresh and good...its our 'go to ' sushi place.
The food and service were excellent! We will definitely return when we're back in that part of SoCal.
