From the outside, the place looks fantastic, and it might have been great at one time. However, the donuts we tried tasted like they were a week old—better suited for soaking up puddles than for eating. To make matters worse, they won't provide complimentary cups of water to enjoy alongside the incredibly dry donuts. This was our second visit, so it’s clear it wasn't just an off day.
Response to the owner: Thank you for your reply. If you're genuinely committed to customer satisfaction, I recommend revising your donut recipe, storage methods, or whatever is causing the donuts to dry out. I took a bite and had to sip my coffee just to swallow it. It wasn't worth finishing the rest.
Delicious! This bakery is a must-visit if you're in the area. I had heard wonderful things about it from friends, and it truly exceeded my expectations. I finally sampled their Mother's Day treats, and they were absolutely fantastic! The donuts were incredibly fresh and fluffy. The chocolate coating was just perfect—not too thick or overpowering, and it tasted completely natural. I ordered a maple bacon long john, a filled chocolate long john, and the gigantic Texas donuts, and they were definitely worth the wait!
The donuts at this place are absolutely delightful—fresh and perfectly textured. It's quite amusing to watch people arrive late to the bakery and then grumble about items being out of stock. Perhaps they should consider waking up a bit earlier! Additionally, if a donut is stale the next day, it actually indicates that it's fresh and contains fewer preservatives. If that concerns you, it might be wiser to purchase your donuts from the grocery store instead.
I grew up loving Hans Bakery, so I was really disappointed when it closed. When it reopened, it felt like a fresh start. However, recently, things seem to have changed. This morning, my husband went in right at opening and bought some donuts that were stale and tasted old. Then today, my mother brought home a beehive cake, one of our favorites from Hans, but it was dense and stale. It’s such a disappointment.

This is the best sweet bread Danish I've ever had! It has fresh Bavarian cream, wonderfully moist bread, and a crunchy almond crumble on top—it's simply fantastic in flavor! The staff member was incredibly knowledgeable about the products, friendly, professional, and very helpful. Be sure to stop by if you're within 20 miles of Anoka!
My wife and I have visited several times since the ownership changed, and it’s simply not as good. The donuts are consistently dry and taste like they’ve been sitting for days. There are far better donut options in Anoka and Champlin.
I wouldn't recommend visiting this place unless you have an immense amount of willpower, like Superman! Everything on the menu looks so tempting. We sampled the Texas Donut and the Applesitter, and they were the best I've ever tasted!
I stopped by and saw they were open until 6:00. I picked up some Valentine's Day treats and it was definitely worth the visit! I also ordered a cake for my sister's birthday online, and it arrived just as promised when I got home!
