My husband and I stayed at the East Wind Inn in Tenants Harbor for two nights over the weekend of September 16th. Since the Inn's pub was closed, we decided to visit the Happy Clam both nights. We have always enjoyed the food during our previous visits, especially the schnitzel, and this time was no different. The quality of the food remains excellent, and the staff is friendly and courteous. My only concern this time was that we felt rushed on both nights. Even though the restaurant continued to fill up, we felt pressured to finish our meals quickly and leave. We will definitely return, but we hope to have a more relaxed experience in the future.
We used to love this restaurant and visited frequently. However, during our last two visits, our experiences have been disappointing. On our second-to-last visit, we were rudely asked to move our truck from the saloon parking, even though we had two handicapped guests with us. Then we were informed that the table we chose was meant for parties of eight, while our group was only seven. It felt a bit strange since the restaurant was mostly empty. On our most recent visit, Jackie ordered her usual fried clams and ended up very sick on the way home, suffering for several days. We've decided to stop going to Happy Clam.
We dined at this restaurant for the first time on May 22, 2021, and we have to say that the experience was outstanding. We began with the fried whole clams, and the only way to describe them is "wow!" I highly recommend them to anyone who hasn't tried them yet. Next, we enjoyed a German dish featuring pork with gravur mushrooms, served with German potato salad, pickled cauliflower, and marinated cherry tomatoes. That was also deserving of a "wow!" Lastly, we had the fried scallop dinner, accompanied by coleslaw and fries, which was yet another "wow!" Overall, our meal was nothing short of fantastic.
One word? Delicious!! Seriously, whether you're in the mood for seafood or German cuisine, you'll be amazed by both. I've been enjoying meals at The Happy Clam since they first opened, and I've never had a bad experience. My favorite dish remains the Jager schnitzel, but they also excel at prime rib. And the seafood? It's tough to pick just one favorite dish here. With great food, wonderful people, and excellent service, there's nothing not to love. If you haven't visited The Happy Clam yet, you're definitely missing out. The beautiful drive is well worth it!

I called ahead on a Sunday and was informed that they offered the entire NFL package, but that turned out to be untrue. There were only two TVs, and both were showing the same game. The food was tasty, and Corrina clearly knows her stuff. Unfortunately, the other owner, Greg, was really rude, which overshadowed the experience, even if there had been more football games on. After being treated that way, I definitely won’t be returning.
Food drinks: The Happy Clam is a gem!! We try to stop in whenever we vacatton in Camden/Rockland area. The owner is a genuine solid great guy! German food is the best! And I appreciate the German side of the menu as my partner appreciates the fantastic seafood. Noteworthy details: Sunday Funday Outback is such a great experience. Love meeting folks. Thank you ! This place is a true, authentic New England experience. We had lunch here today, some of us had seafood baskets and some had German food, a wedge salad, and Buffalo wings. Nothing was greasy, everything was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. I was thoroughly impressed with our meal and the service was great. I’ll definitely be back! Food was excellent and portions were huge. I got the garden salad with lobster meat added, and there was so much lobster I had lobster in every bite. It was busy and short staffed,but they hustled. Would definitely return Service: 5 Location: 5
