In my opinion, this is the best place to get a sub in Chatham, and really in the whole central Illinois area. They really pile on the meat in their sandwiches, and if you want a little extra of anything, they’ll generously give you nearly double what you ask for. There is an extra cost for that, but it’s definitely worth it. I appreciate the online deal where I can get two subs, two bags of chips, and a two-liter soda for under $20. Delivery can be a bit slow, but considering how busy this location is, I’m willing to overlook that.
I called the manager to address the issue, but he talked over me and insisted that we had ordered extra turkey, despite my clear notation on the order form stating "added extra veggie turkey, thank you." He essentially accused us of lying. Honestly, why would anyone order a veggie turkey sub and then add real turkey to it? That seems to make sense to the managers at Headwest Chatham.
Because of this experience, we will no longer be dining at Headwest. I hope other vegetarians take note and be cautious!
My sister treated me to lunch here recently and I had the Italian sub. It was DELICIOUS and tasted exactly like an AUTHENTIC SUB SANDWICH should. I was greeted by the friendly staff as soon as I walked in. As a first timer, they answered all of my questions and made me the perfect sandwich. The prices are reasonable, so I will definitely be back.
This was a good sub place. It's right by Subway, so we preferred a local place. I had a half of a Reuben and soup. My husband had a #8. We had one kids meal and my daughter had a half of a meatball sub.

This is what the national sub chains SHOULD be like! Great sweet bread sandwich and run it thru a toaster and you got a delicious lunch.
Good service and the food was just what I expected. Especially like the home made sweet bread. My sons favorite sandwich spot.
The subs are made quickly, and the staff is very friendly. Their sweet bread is the best in Springfield.
