When dining at a Michelin rated establishment, the expectations are typically high. The cost usually is justified by the food, ambiance and overall experience. The staff was incredibly polite and professional, and the food was enjoyable. The experience did leave much to be desired however. When spending $450+ for a meal for two, the assumption is you will be blown away. The tasting room was crowded and loud, and having to almost yell at my dinner guest to carry a conversation was not the evening I had in mind when booking this dinner. I went with my fiancé and two friends to have dinner at Heritage last night. I was really excited to try LB's only Michelin starred restaurant. It's a prix fixe menu and we ordered the wine pairings for the table. The decor is clean and inviting and I appreciate the acoustic treatment that allowed us to have a nice conversation. It was still loud, but not impossible to hear each other. It was a very enjoyable meal. But, if you're going, I'd say temper your expectations. Given the new Michelin star, I would have to say that the food was somewhat disappointing. The first course of kampachi crudo was outstanding but things slid more to average from there. A perfectly cooked scallop, but just one scallop and nothing outstanding about the flavors. Similarly with the duck well cooked but just kind of okay in terms of an overall dish. The first dessert was kind of a disaster the chocolate ice cream contrasted too sharply with the fruit coulis and I had to separate them to get the flavor of the ice cream. I have dined at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, and this one was a massive letdown! We visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary and mentioned that in our reservation. To sum it up, the food was lackluster for such a prestigious establishment, the service was average at best, and we felt rushed since we were the last reservation of the evening. They started putting away silverware and clearing tables while we were still enjoying our meal. We had to ask for coffee after our dessert arrived because no one checked on us during our visit. Cute little former home transformed into a restaurant. Drive slowly or you might miss it. They provide valet right in front which I highly recommend as Long Beach is know for being scarce on parking. Everything was perfect from the moment we were greeted by the host to the time we ate out last spoonful of dessert. They offer a preset 6 course tasting menu with optional wine pairing. The plates are meant to be tastings but I promise you won't leave hungry. Everything tasted amazing and the most unexpected flavors paired together so well. The menu changes often based on what's in season and I have every intention of going back. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I had a wonderful meal accompanied by friendly and efficient service. The flavors and presentation of the dishes were outstanding, making for a memorable dining experience. I can't wait to return in the future. I was eager to try their sandwiches, but I found out they stopped serving them about a year ago. I parked conveniently right behind the restaurant in one of their three designated spots, which was really easy—though I might have been fortunate since it was a Tuesday. As for kid-friendliness, I wouldn't particularly recommend it for children, although I think they would likely enjoy the food.

The food and service was excellent! We went on Wednesday and got a bottle of wine for half price. The dining area could have better acoustics but honestly, I was probably the one that was loud. That wine pairing doesn't seem like a lot of wine but it will sneak up on you! I had such a good evening that I am tempted to make another reservation but will wait until they post a different menu. Good food and service. We've tried other Michelin starred restaurants and having the first one in Long Beach is worth a try. The indoor lighting could be improved so we can appreciate seeing the beautiful food presentation. Noise level is high so not conducive to quiet conversations. Delicious food; definitely worth visiting.

This was a wonderful, subdued, yet elegant fine dining experience. I made a reservation here for my wife and I for our wedding anniversary. The food was exquisite, the staff were all super friendly, and the dessert courses were amazing. I can't recommend it highly enough, earned its Michelin star most assuredly.
