As a person with celiac disease, my wife and I have often struggled to find good places for her to eat. However, this restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The server kindly gave us a delicious shortbread biscuit with our pot of tea, which was homemade and simply melted in our mouths. The best part was that it was gluten-free! It was the best shortcake biscuit we've had in a long time, so we ended up buying the four they had left. My wife's gluten-free lunch choice was the ploughman's, which was served with gluten-free bread - a great option for both celiacs and non-celiacs, as the non-celiacs could enjoy the regular bread. We all had a wonderful time and even left with the recipe for the bis...

My wife and I decided to visit this café in Hawes after failing to find another one that served tea cakes past 12pm. I was really craving a teacake, okay! The café had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with an attached gallery showcasing some beautiful artwork. The owner, who we assumed to be the owner, was friendly and took the time to chat with us about our choices. I opted for the teacakes, while my wife chose the cheese scone. We both loved our selections, especially the teacakes with Seville marmalade, which recently won a Great Taste award. I couldn't resist buying some of the marmalade to take home. I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem of a café.

Been frequenting this establishment so long that Glenn and Liz (the owners) have become good friends. Visited twice for light lunches during our recent week's stay in the dale. On both occasions I had the leek and potato soup which is far beyond your usual run of the mill variety. Herriot's Kitchen also doubles as an art gallery, exhibiting paintings by local artists and for sale. There are some lovely works of art there. Hoping to return in the not too distant future,

My friends and I were in search of a cafe that offered gluten-free options, and stumbling upon Herriot's Kitchen was a delightful surprise. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, and we enjoyed delicious cheese and fruit scones, as well as gluten-free lemon drizzle cake. The prices were reasonable, and the couple who owns the cafe were incredibly welcoming - it felt like visiting old friends. I highly recommend paying them a visit. Reserva una mesa ahora

We decided on Herriott’s for lunch as it was the only place which clearly said vegan menu and unfortunately we have a number of allergies. They really couldn’t have been more accommodating for our family ensuring meals were appropriate. Food was delicious! Thoughtful touches too when it came to changing the baby on a wet day. They even coped with our weaning daughter and dog. Would highly recommend

We've been coming to Herriot's for lunches and B B for a good few years now. Glenn Liz always make us so welcome. The business has been severely cut back due to covid, but the cafe and art gallery are scheduled to open later this month. We spent 3 nights B B just a week ago, and the quality never changes. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!

Visited with my husband and son today. Were made very welcome even though we arrived just a few minutes before the end of the lunch service. I chose the ciabatta with Yorkshire blue cheese, pickled pears and walnuts and I can honestly say it was one of the best lunches I've ever had. Highly recommended!

Stopped on chance for a drink whilst visiting Hawes. Very Friendly staff, home made cakes which were delicious and well made Latte's. A great friendly stop off. Just one note this place only takes Cash, No Cards! Reserva una mesa ahora

We stayed at the B&B. Perfect stop before resuming our much (covid) delayed Pennine way walk. Friendly, welcoming host, comfortable room with great views, great breakfast, will stay again if we're back in Hawes.
