I wanted to like the Hilton Head Diner. What is better than a true diner experience? The atmosphere was reasonably true to the genre, with a nice counter and decent booth seating. The menu was extensive and seemed reasonably priced. The service was also very good, with a coffee served quickly. Good expectations. Unfortunately the food let the place down. I had the country fried steak and eggs for breakfast. The ‘steak’ seemed to be a breaded patty of some indeterminate ‘meat’ that was taken out of the freezer shortly before cooking. We dined at the Diner on our final day of vacation, and it was a great experience. With its charming 50s-style décor, tasty food, and excellent service, this place is definitely a must-visit. We enjoyed a Sunday breakfast there, and as is typical on weekends, there was a bit of a wait since they don’t take reservations. My photo captures exactly what we ordered, and I absolutely loved the waffle—I should have gotten two!

We came here a couple of times on our week long trip to Hilton Head. The first time we came in on Christmas day and had a wonderful breakfast lunch. We gad the banana fosters pancakes, ribs, pancake big breakfast, and the gluten free stuffed french toast. The second time we came in I tried the gluten free blueberry pancakes and they were delicious too!!

This classic diner offers a wide-ranging menu and serves breakfast all day. While we could have used a bit more attentive coffee service, the staff was overall friendly and helpful, and our group was served promptly. First time eating there and lived here 10 years. Great food homemade dessert. You can tell everything is from scratch. A must do while in town

The food is excellent, the service is outstanding, the atmosphere is inviting, and the prices are reasonable. Definitely a worthwhile stop!

Was a bit disappointed. Sub was dry. Didn't have much flavor. But the chili and chips were good.
