Being a Chicago native, I had to try them out. The Chicago dog is on point but when I read someone said the Italian beef is as good as Portillos I MUST say that is completely FALSE. An Italian beef sandwich should not have any grilled onions nor should it have bell peppers on it! If you want an authentic Chicago Italian beef sandwich, please try Doug's Delight which is a small ice cream shop in Hazel Park. They offer Chicago Hot Dogs and REAL Italian Beef sandwiches. Sorry not sorry.
After more than a year of 3-4 times a week. I was in a real hurry today and ordered less than my usual, That made it under $5. I didn't have cash. So they wouldn't serve me. A regular. So, don't mistake family owned for community minded.
You simply can't go wrong with this place. Family owned and operated. All very friendly. Hippo dogs(Chicago) are genuine and delicious. Cajun dog is great. Their coneys rival any other place for sure. Always enjoy going here.
