**Service and Ambience [3.5]:** The restaurant had only one couple dining in, making it easy to find a table. The owner was friendly and communicated with us in Cantonese. The interior has a simple setup with limited tables, giving it a cozy feel. **Food [4.5]:** We looked at what other reviewers had ordered, and since those were also dishes we were interested in, we decided to try the same. The food was delicious and served hot. The stir-fried beef hor fun was slightly moist, whereas we prefer a drier version. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will definitely return.

I thought it couldn't get any worse, but then I tried the Szechuan chicken, and it turned out to be a ketchup-filled disaster, lacking any real Szechuan flavor. There was even a faint, unpleasant smell coming from it. Overall, it was not appetizing at all. I really don't understand why this restaurant has such high ratings; it was a complete disappointment. The final bill for a two-shot meal, one bowl of steamed rice, and a small iced tea came to $65 – an awful value for money.

A fantastic local authentic Chinese restaurant, Hoi's kitchen is our regular choice with great food and portion sizes. Whilst the store itself is small, it's a fine spot to eat in or take away.
