We had an outstanding 8 course taster menu with added white truffle (delicious) and cheeseboard (lots of choice). From the moment we arrived we were met with incredibly efficient service and a super quiet yet comfortable atmosphere. The dishes were served at perfect temperatures with neither delay nor haste. The hot mushroom 'tea ' to start was very tasty and every plate afterwards delivered new flavours, textures and surprises. We thoroughly enjoyed every one. The wine menu is extensive with plenty of alternatives and we were even treated to sample a new cocktail..name to be confirmed... Visited “Home” for the 4 course set lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the ravioli, and all beautifully presented. We really liked the general ambience and it was really interesting to watch the food being prepared. The team, especially Mr Sommerin himself, were very accommodating of our group (attended with a baby and it was greatly appreciated that he took the effort to serve a fresh main course for the new mum as she had been caring for the baby when it was originally served. Will definitely be returning again soon (without the noisy baby!! . I recently dined at that Michelin-starred restaurant offering an eight-course menu. Every dish was delicious, though the portions felt a bit large for such fine dining. I especially enjoyed the wild mushroom tartlet, the perfectly cooked partridge, and the fig-mascarpone dessert, which was wonderfully balanced. The meal ended with an impressive cheese cart featuring local selections. The wine list was superb, with an excellent selection of wines by the glass. Sadly I am nowhere near eloquent enough to do this fine dinning establishment any justice. Suffice it to say that we are already looking forward to our next visit. Chefs James and Georgina run a tight ship that serves up the most exquisitely delicious food that is both appealing to the eye and taste buds. They were also warm and engaging and the whole night felt world class. My faith in the culinary scene in Cardiff has been restored. Had the 8 course taster menu last night. The food was outstanding and highly presented . As for the atmosphere, it was relaxing and homely. The service was very friendly and informative both when presenting food and drinks. Look forward to my next visit.
