Good Friday is always a good time to re-visit the Home Style Diner. The restaurant had been closed for a while as result of a fire in the plaza but has returned to reclaim it's place as one of Waterloo's quality restaurants. We chose Good Friday because they always have a Fish and Chip special on Good Friday and it was as expected. The service was quick and efficient, the batter on the fish was light and crispy, not oily and eh fries were as good as ever. With coleslaw, tartar sauce and the complimentary roll we enjoyed ever morsel and are pleased to see they have returned without missing a beat. My girlfriend and I live near by, so we decided to walk down and check this place out around 2pm.Menu was standard, nothing special. She got a western sandwich of some kind and I had a burger. Our food took a while and our server came out and apologized stating its the first time she has cooked these meals.After hearing that, I knew I was in for a low par meal, and it was. I tipped 3%, and even that made me feel guilty for wasting money. What a dive.

We stop in once a month and can hardly wait to go once again ! Top rating for their food and service. Very friendly team and staff. Can not say enough about how clean this restaurant is .Can not wait to go back.

Veey extensive menu. Friendly atmosphere. Chose the Reuben which came with fries, coleslaw and dill pickle. Packed with corned beef and sauerkraut. Smooth dressing.
