On my visit to Hot Star Eastwood I found the wonderful basil-y fragrance of the "chicken bites" ($6.5) and the aroma of the "crispy chicken bites" ($6.5) to be consistent with it's flagship store on Liverpool St in the city. The chicken is still wonderfully juicy, however the crunch of the batter isn't quite as strong. Still a nice Taiwanese style chicken option if you're way out west!
NB - Hot Star isn't fast food in the sense that the food is delivered to you ASAP. When you order you're given a ticket and you'll be waiting a minimum of five minutes before you get your chicken as they batter and deep fry on order. Expect a wait of up to fifteen minutes if Hot Star staff are busy.

Este es mi lugar favorito de pollo frito. Siempre ama este lugar para el amigo de la amiga taiwanesa. ¡Crujiente y de buen gusto! Sin embargo, el sabor ácido de la ciruela tiene un mal retraso, pero esto nunca volverá a ordenar. Otros sabores están bien. Espere al menos 7 minutos hasta que el pollo esté listo para estar listo. Hoy lo hemos ahorrado de manera segura ordenando las páginas de los champiñones fritos y fritos a la perfección calamericalmente y saborizados fácilmente con chile, pimienta y polvo de cebolla.
Was always a bit confused with the idea of a huge chicken chop as a snack, but succumbed to trying one after walking behind someone eating one with the amazing aroma wafting back at me. It is seriously good!! Crispy out the outside whilst still moist on the inside, and so flavoursome. You can choose from 5 levels of spiciness- they apply chilli powder after it has been deep-fried. Must try.
This is my favourite fried chicken place. Always love this place for Taiwanese-style friend chicken. Crispy and flavourful! However, the sour plum flavour has a bad after-taste, will not order this ever again. Other flavours are fine. At least 7mins wait for chicken to be ready. Staff aren't always attentive but it's a takeaway shop anyway, can't expect much service.
A huge chunk of fried chicken- so big, it's almost sickening for some. It's coated in a light but crispy breaking; with a Szechuan pepper type seasoning. A great meal for people on the go.
Today we played it safe by ordering the sides- fried mushrooms and calamari- fried to perfection and lightly seasoned with chilli, pepper, and onion powder.
