We know Alatsee as a walking destination and decided this year to stay at the hotel by the lake as a centre for more walking and perhaps some nature. Booking was through Booking.com and straightforward. We decided on a minisuite for extra room and comfort...should the weather not cooperate. but it did so that was even nicer. The Suite consisted of a sitting room/lounge attached to a bedroom area and bathroom. All was very comfortable and agreeable. Sadly the room was at the back so there was neither much of a view and indeed no balcony for sitting out. I found that rather surprising and wonder if we had an inferior' room. please avoid this restaurant if you want to enjoy the beautiful landscape. because the service will ruin everything. on a hot day at the weekend we went to the lake, had a bath and wanted to drink something cool and eat light before we were going back to feet. to the happiness we have a table on the packed terrace. but something seemed wrong. all around us waited for the service. the day we thought. but only after some of the other guests have asked for the service, we have heard of a breakdown of their electronic cash system. that can happen, but there are much better ways to deal with it. so the minutes went by and dozens of guests came to us and went back without seeing the service. there...
this hotel, this restaurant has an excellent location, and if you can eat (like weather) on the terrace, and at the right tables, you can enjoy the view of the lake. yes, please! the indoor restaurant is attractive, comfortable and has part banquet seating, my favorite. make them. april 2018 was the second time we visited. at both locations (the first was 2015), we made the walk of feet and ate there. in both places, eating was just what they wish to be among such things – big, local aromen; excellent core...produce, well boiled. (three years ago it was the first place I ever had in late zle. it's still good. the good beer is also good, the food supplement. and it has one of the Bavarian alpen views that, if I ever risk that I have to remember how miraculous they are. My wife and I, as part of a 17 strong walking group, stopped for lunch twice at the Alatsee restaurant during our I week visit to Fussen. Everyone in the group said that they greatly enjoyed the excellent service and delicious food. In particular two...of the soups on offer, the potato and the pumpkin were rated the best soups ever tasted absolutely delicious! A very nice atmospheric Bavarian restaurant.
What a lovely hidden gem. We had dinner here twice while touring Bavaria. It is off the beaten path you may think you are lost, but keep driving and you'll come upon this lovely restaurant. The road is single lane and goes through woods...and opens to a small lake that the restaurant overlooks.
