We were staying in a nearby hotel and saw this restaurant by accident whilst driving past. Later that evening we decided to eat there and we were not disappointed. It is about – minutes walk from the ‘Explorer Hotel Berchtesgaden’. The atmosphere inside...the restaurant was really nice, quite busy and very friendly staff. Not all of the personnel spoke English, but one particular waitress did, so we had no problems asking about the menu. All of the waitresses were dressed in local Bavarian costume, which gave the restaurant a real local feel (especially to us as tourists). There is a good choice on the menu and our food was exceptionally good, very tasty and served well. Our total experience was very good and so we reserved a table for the following evening aswell. Our second evening there was also very good and again without any disappointment. This is a really nice place to eat in, with local cuisine and I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting or staying in Schönau am Königssee.
Afternoon tea (Apfelstrudel, German cheese cake and coffee) was outstanding, which can rate a Especially when they offer us window seats. However, the dinner was average. We ordered Wiener Schnitzel and Weisswuerste but did not like them much. Must try their Classic beer (Weininger...Hell and Dunkel).
Great find. Was staying at the Explorer hotel and made the min walk here. The atmosphere and food really good. It was very busy but as there was only of us we got a table. I would recommend booking Food was very good...and reasonably priced. Would definitely eat there again
