We visited this hotel and ate in its restaurant back around 2003. It was an acceptable French hotel with lovely food and a decent choice of wines.We revisited in 2016 and it has been transformed. The hotel for the better, an extensive refurbishment that has left it outstanding and individual - no chance of thinking you are in a 'Eurobox' standard hotel. A delightful place to stay whilst visiting The Somme.The restaurant is still very good, there's not a lot of competition in Bapaume anyway. Spent 7 overnight here Tour WW1 Battlefields, took this location as central for "The Somme Area" and easy to find near the highway of Calais. Has everything you need for a relaxing stay, all in one place. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, great shower,... lounge area, bar and restaurant. Continental breakfast with many choices, food in the restaurant is exceptional, nice touch was chief served us main course. Small number of employees who work very hard and always there to help. We found the relaxed dress code acceptable and very French, not affecting the quality of the service. Stayed here for a long weekend with my parents. Had a wonderful stay as the hotel is in a perfect location to visit the Somme battlefields. The hotel is spotlessly clean, breakfast was a perfect start to the day. We had dinner in the restaurant on one occasion but all agreed that we should have eaten there more. Would definitely recommend
