Let me begin by telling you that I am not a regular restaurant-reviewer. This is my first review. I am not planning on writing many more. The only reason for writing this review is to prevent future guests and cyclists of having the same incredibly bad experience as we did. Hotel de Milan is a beautiful old and vintage/withered hotel and brasserie (the e in “brasserie” is missing on the outside wall of the hotel) located in the center of Bourg d’Oisans in the French Alpes. On the bicycle you can reach the foot of l’Alpe d’Huez in 5 minutes. Our group of 20 cyclists was pleasantly surprised that we were able to reserve a table at noon for that same evening, Other restaurants were fully booked...
We were in this place five or six years ago, and as much as the hotel itself was quite easy to forget, we enjoyed breakfast so we decided to come for a breakfast while shopping in the city a few days ago, and we are very glad that we did. It is simple, simple, but very tasty and well prepared breakfast. Do not expect Full English, that is France, but you will certainly be well prepared coffee, excellent pastries and fresh juice, and that is what you need. The service is quite relaxed, but surprisingly fast, and we will certainly be back for a quick breakfast next time we are in the city for early morning shopping.
Many works at the renovation of Hotel de Milan since last year. The apartments/rooms are very well furnished: plugs have direct Apple plugs. Good, constant hot water. The hotel is located in the centre of Bourg: the cycling of the Alpe D'Huez region. A great base for the tour. The centre of the cycling world in July. Friendly, attentive staff from a family-run hotel that keeps the classic elements of the state-of-the-art in combination with the modern expectations of travellers in this part of the world.
Magical atmosphere Beautiful decoration and feels like home service hotel owners treats us like old friends. Breakfast was delicious and a wide selection of dishes. In the hotel's restaurant run separate look strange but worth every penny cook Christoph lost in his own world, but food is served from this world. Very recommended

We were offered the choice between two bedrooms... one as uncomfortable as the other! no double glazing, toilets encrased, decoration nonexistent, furniture of another time like all the building !bref, places to assure you an immediate depression... for 65€ without breakfast.Bref, we left!
tested several times. very pleasant to have a terrace on the waterfront or in the room with a warm decor, with ease. fish dish or salads or...each can find a dish for lunch including cyclists!
Authentic family-run Hotel with Restaurant. Pizzas are amazing. terrace overlooking Alpe d'Huez. Great value for money. Highly recomendable!

bad pizza, uncooked vegetables, koca evader served directly in a glass from a bottle of coca that had to stay in their fridge
good place to have a big bowl of pasta after a hard day in the saddle. friendly staff with an old fashioned feel about it
