We were impressed with the location of the hotel and was keen to do the boat trip and see the sights. €24 euros for 2 people. what a rip off. Nobody spoke English the commentary was in French only even though the owner of the boat spoke very good English. We were given a leaflet written in English and nobody spoke to us again. There was nothing to see the trip was extremely boring and frustrating. When we left we spoke to the person who owned the boat about how dissatisfied we were. his reply your not the first to make that comment! No refund was offered. We found the whole trip a total waste of time and an expensive one and a half hours. Never again, don't bother with it.
We reserved a table following a recommendation. We were not disappointed. Located in a lovely village besides a river the hotel also boasts access to a river cruise which we also took up. We had not reserved and were lucky that there was room for us. The plat du jour offered several options. I would highly recommend the salmon local fish dish. Service was exceptional and delivered in a friendly engaging manner. We have already booked our return (and reserved the 1 hour river trip too) with some friends.
We stopped at this hotel on our epic journey across France. It happened to coincide with our 25th wedding anniversary. The owners could not have done more for us, the lady made us a beautiful carrot cake in the shape of a heart, they presented us with it for desert. It fed all 26 cyclists the very next day. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and efforts. The evening meal was very good and breakfast too. Many, many thanks for helping us celebrate. The hotel is in a beautiful location. Liz.
I'm going to stain among the comments posted here, but good, the buffet formula is minimalist (very few choices), the dishes are frankly limited and the instructions passed to the unrespected waitress; the sauce bends in the dishes(wise it would be to put it apart), the sauces without flavor. The boss is adorable, but waitresses limit if we make them chi.r.But good; we get a little ballad dan the ruins and it's forgotten, I'd go back to the site, but not in this restaurant. A lovely table on the balcony with the view out over the river, gorge and castle. The staff were lovely and very helpful there was some good banter. The food was good For those who want it there is a boat drip down the river cruise, through the gorg, which runs in the summer afternoons. Details from the hotel.
We went back after we visited this place three years ago. This time it was sunny. Food is still good and the 1.5 hour during trip after that with the boat was also still nice. Only thing that could be improved is to not only have an English book during the trip but also someone who speaks English.
