Stopped in for lunch on a weekday which was my first visit to House of Gerard. Driving up the building is authentic with well maintained coat of arms artwork on the exterior. Interior is nice as well with bar, 2 dining room sections and an outdoor seating area. We sat at a table beside a window which was very pleasant. Many places don’t serve lunch but there was a menu with lunch specials which we both ordered the cabbage soup. Ham, potato and cabbage which was excellent “comfort food”. Soooooo good!!! We went in completely at random. Had been shopping and decided we wanted something more than burgers for dinner. I was NOT dressed for the occasion, in my Star Wars t-shirt for May 4th, and they welcomed us no problem. My SO got the charred prime rib and a brandy old fashioned. I got the cordon bleu schnitzel with spaetzel with gravy and the stormy night martini. EVERYTHING was so flippin delicious!! Best old fashioned I've ever tasted by far. My martini was the perfect combo of sweet and sour and super flavorful. The prime rib was GINORMOUS and melted in your mouth. And my schnitzel was so unique and so absolutely delicious. I finally had my taste of Gerhard’s, wanting to come here for years. What a great experience! Kyle, grandson of Mr. Gerard, treated us like royalty. The cocktails were great, the food was outstanding, and the aperitif, an amazing grasshopper was off-the-chain. I recommend the House of Gerhard’s to everyone! Tolles Essen, Komma, noch besserer Service, Punkt!

Wonderful dining at the House of Gerhard. We were seated immediately (we chose the patio which looks beautiful with all of the flowers). Service was fast and friendly (Jennifer was attentive and great). Hofbrau was perfect and the schnitzel was delicious. Loved the spaetzel. Definitely will return here again. Reserva una mesa ahora

Maybe the best German dining experience you can possibly have. I recently attempted to challenge House of Gerhard by going to another German place named maders in Milwaukee that gets great reviews and was really shocked at how much more I love house of Gerhard over it. I recommend this place very highly.

A funky, dated,eclectic and convivial German restaurant. Service was exceptional in all ways. My schnitzel the only disappointment as it was covered in bland yellow cheese. The opening serve of pate and bean salad very nice. Certainly worth a second try and a recommendation

I went to the bar Friday evening for a Beer or two and decided that I was in fact going to have Supper. I was served by Rachel and have nothing but praise for the outstanding Food, Service and Drinks! I ordered the Oskar schnitzel and left feeling Fat and Sassy.
