Ichiban Sushi - Reservar una mesa

We have driven past Ichiban for four years and never thought to go in. Its on a high traffic corner in a shopping center that isn't very nice, nor is it in a great location, more of a pass through high traffic location. One day in the pouring rain my wife suggests we try it, I was skeptical because of the building and location so I went along not expecting much. Boy did I get it wrong. Excellent service, very attentive and professional, great food, pretty well presented and flavorful food. The interior is showing some age and nothing to get excited about but its clear the owners care about quality and training their staff well. We get used to so many places having sub par service, maybe nice...

I do really enjoy the atmosphere and the positive customer service I received the three times I dined in there. I had the House Roll (picture posted) several times. I had the Caterpillar Roll which is also delicious. I wasnt much of a fan of spider roll for the way it was designed on the plate. Lastly I had the fried scallops which I did enjoy. Hopefully I will come back to Joplin and dine in again. Thank you so much!

This place has amazing food! The Miso soup was flavorful. The pineapple fried rice could have used A little more flavor for my taste but Husband Love It. The gone dressing inn the salad was great. The lovers sushi platter was phenomenal! Everything was so fresh and amazing. The service was very lacking but there was a now hiring sign in the window so hopefully it will get better.

Great place, great people, great food, and excellent sushi considering we are a thousand miles from the nearest ocean! Difficult to find in a strip mall that appears to be in the process of reconstruction, but totally worth it if you like authentic Japanese food prepared by people with a passion for the quality, appearance, and flavors of Japan!
