Dinner on a Wednesday night. Busy for a mid week night. Kevin served me, looking after multiple tables yet personable at all times. I ordered the Caprese for starters and the duck Ragu for mains. The buffalo mozzarella was good, ditto the dressing, tomatoes not quite ripe but just out of season and very well presented. Ragu was hearty and generous. Chef Giovanni added a personal touch, explaining wine matching and inspiration for the menu. Nice bloke. Finished with a couple of shots of Amaro, Fernet Branca and an Australian Amaro, both excellent after dinner and on the house! Went to try this at our daughters request. I was quite impressed with the service, service was friendly and casual but quick enough without feeling rushed.The food was excellent, fantastic Gnocchi and excellent Duck Ragu. When ordering desserts I was convinced to try their Tiramisu, I wasn't sure as many are very poor and nothing like a traditional Tiramisu, however, this was an absolute Gem, perfectly textured and balanced, not overpowered with the masala.A small menu of carefully selected and lovingly created meals and desserts that are well worth the visit.

authentic Italian experience. I loved the red wine recommendation. the gnocchi and porcini mushrooms risoto were delicious. tiramisu was amazing homemade. great atmosphere and excellent customer service. I felt like a travel in italy. grazie!

it is so refreshing to have such an excellent meal in mackay. the service was attentive, the wine tasty and the real highlight of the night was the gnocchi, the gnocchi was soft and light, and the sauce was tasteful and beautifully balanced.
Customer service was average, our wine glasses weren't filled up, no one bothered to ask how our meals were and had to wait for a while for someone to pick our plates after we finished. Italian food was as good as you can get in Mackay.
I had the pleasure of dining here several days in a row. A limited menu but certainly not lacking in flavour all round
Country cooking is either stake and three vegetables, or exquisite tasting entrails. Il Bacco is the latter.
