We 've lived in the area Mahopac) now almost 8 years and have past this restaurant many times but for whatever reason never stopped in till last Friday night. My wife and my daughter and I went in. We did not know we needed a reservation, the girl at the desk was so nice , asked us if we can wait a few minutes and the few was less then 10 minutes. Brought us over to he table and the waiter was also nice. Susan was going around to all the tables to make sure everyone was happy and we were and we told her it was out first time and welcomed us. a few minutes later the waiter brought over an appetizer which we didn 't order and he said it was from Susan as a welcome to the restaurant. Most of us had not eaten there; bit of a wait to get in but the staff treated us so kindly, checked in regularly through the meal, made recommendations when asked, and just generally made sure we were comfortable throughout our evening. The food was very good, and the desserts were excellent. I'd seen a great photo of an Affogato from their business page, and even though it wasn't on the menu they were still willing to make it for me. Recommending and will likely be back.

I recently had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. To put it simply, the waitstaff overlooked us. However, when I spoke to the manager, they went above and beyond to address the issue. They sincerely apologized and treated us with exceptional care, reminiscent of service that I thought was a thing of the past. I truly appreciated their effort to make things right. IL Forno never fails to provide the most amazing food and service. It is always my go to for lunch, dinner and family parties. We just had my son’s confirmation lunch there with 25 people and they all couldn’t stop commenting how delicious the food was. The owners are so accommodating and the wait staff go above and beyond. My family and I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. The owners always greet you with a smile and treat you like family. The friendly staff are very helpful with suggestions about their daily specials which never disappoint. A local gem with great atmosphere and delicious food. Can’t wait until the weather warms up to be able to dine at their outside patio.

Excellent food, drinks, and service! We got the meatballs to start and two individual pizzas—the capricciosa and the goat cheese pizzas. Everything was incredible and we had plenty leftover. I also got a cucumber gimlet which was delicious and refreshing! Will definitely be returning.

My first visit was outstanding! The atmosphere was beautiful, and everyone was friendly and cheerful. We were warmly welcomed by Rick, the owner, who made us feel like part of his family. The fried calamari might be the best I’ve ever tasted, and our dinners were just as fantastic.

Can't say enough nice things about this place. I went for my aunt's birthday after saying for years I wanna try them out. The food and staff was simply amazing. I had a wonderful dining experience with a delicious meal and outstanding service! For dinner, the price per person was over $100. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect rating of 5. Highly recommended!
