We Have had dinner at this restaurant. There were not many people eating , it was rather empty . We had spaghetti carbonara which was served with the pan I liked that but had No taste at all , very flat or rather no taste . The fillet de boeuf on a slate was very nice served with 4 sauces and frites . The waitress polite , prices rather high as most restaurants in Lausanne .
With the little french I knew (the waitress did not speak english) I managed to order the escargot and the all'amatriciana with tagliatelle. Escargot was good, and while the pasta wasn't great (slightly soft noodles w/ slightly runny sauce), it was still tasty and gave huge portions. The service was good as well.
Arrived in Lausanne and Il Gambero was recommended by the hotel. It was a great choice with excellent food with a lovely friendly ambience. We took our dogs, expecting to have a table outside, but we were welcomed inside the restaurant dogs and all. Had some very good local white wine.
We have waited more than 2 hours for our food. After all that time they brought my pasta aux fruits de mer which I can consider the worst pasta I was ever served. Returned the dish and had a house meat which was actually very good (reason for the 2 starts instead of 1). Reserva una mesa ahora
We have eaten here many times and never a bad meal. Super friendly, usually busy, great food. MY WIFE IS A GARLIC LOVER (thank goodness I am not Count Dracula) she loves this place and I can always find more moderate excellent choices for me too!
This is a simple Italian restaurant with lots of pizza and pasta dishes on the menu. The nice thing about the pastas is that they serve them in two rounds, so this is a place to visit when very hungry.
We have always been enjoying il Gambero, where we met for the first time almost 40 years ago ! Great choice of dishes. The food is always fine, the staff friendly and attentionate.

We dined at Il Gambero, and were very pleased with the menu range/selection, as well as the wine selection. Service was very good, and reasonably priced.
