Illuminaté Restorante Steakhouse, Seafood, Italian

We've held back giving a review last few years because we are local and really want to support local businesses. However after a string of bad experiences with Illuminate we feel compelled to share our recent experience(yet another one) . We two walked in with no reservation, thinking we could get a seat at the bar and advised we would only be staying about an hour or so for a quick pasta. The lady at front desk said, no problem, so we followed her to our seats. Soon after the main Hostess (the one with 0 personality) came up and advised us that a party of 5 had reserved the bar seats where we were and we had to move to the area in front of dish clean up and food prep. What ??? Noooo, but there happened to be a seat in the lounge that we took. We noticed the party of 5 showed up about an hour after we arrived until their table was ready in the dining area 10 mins later. When we asked the hostess about this, she said this was at the Owners (Chef} request to move us. Well guess what Roland , as previous loyal patrons we will most likely not return, and we don't mind because your food has gone down hill so much and your customer service even more so. Good Luck you will need it !!!!

I can't say enough about this restaurant. Since I live on Vancouver Island, I've only had the ability to go twice, but every single dish and drink we have had has been nothing short of perfect. Such a beautiful atmosphere, clean, comfortable, and fancy-ish but relaxed. The drinks are amazing. And the then the food... Quite literally the best food I have ever eaten, anywhere! You can tell the chef and kitchen take their time and take pride in what they are serving. It's outstanding. We have a reservation booked a couple weeks from now and I cannot wait!!

Sadly, I was too consumed by the rustic interior along with the well crafted, delicious plates to be taking photos along the way. If you love a great dry aged steak, this might be your new go to. Let's just say you won't be left wanting by this not so hidden jem.

Great place to dine. Great staff and excellent food. You will not be disappointed, bring the kids, they have pizza.

Went here for my Father's 70th birthday. We had a private room, the food and the service was excellent.
