Thought i would give the hotel a go as i generally stay in premier inns on business every couple of weeks and thought this would be an upgrade due to the price being roughly £40 more than a premier inn. The bathroom/shower was nice, seems to have been updated. The rest of the room needs decorating as the walls are covered in marks and it looks battered. Damp smell outside of room permeating into room, looked like you have had a leaky pipe, not sure how long for. TV was poor, only 3 channels worked, the others all broke up and pixelated. The room was nice and large and bright however the bathroom was dirty on arrival and we had to request a service visit. The staff here were not very nice in fact they were rude and unhappy not a smile between them it was very stange. The cooked breakfast was good but coffee was cold or Luke warm and no pastries no fruit and no yogurts so very poor unless you wanted a cooked breakfast. The bar and service at the bar was shambolic at best and non existent at worse. Paying close to 200 for a room I expect a lot more for my pound than this place provided I’ve had better 1 star hotels for service than this place
We were originally attending the evening celebrations at a wedding at West Tower but we were invited to the day time at the last minute. The receptionist checked us in early, gave us room entrance keys and arranged for our bags to be taken up to our room when it was ready, which meant that we did not need to return later to check in when rooms were ready. Very helpful staff. When we returned to the hotel around 1:40am, the room was warm and spacious and we had a good nights sleep.
Everything was excellent. Friendliness of staff, cleanliness and comfort in the rooms and the restaurant food in the evening and breakfast was first class. We have stayed at this hotel regularly for our annual trip to Haydock races. One area of improvement would be the provision of shower mats as standard. By the time we realised it was o on request one of us were using the shower.
Great service from the waiting staff for breakfast and dinner. Room was large and pretty quiet. The property is attractive both inside and out. The room was very hot on day 1 save yourself money and the planet by turning it down 5 degrees. Several breakfast items were unavailable on both days. We would stay again, and this was our 2nd visit.
We were very impressed with the room, especially the very large bathroom and the shower, food was very good also, Particularly impressed with the breakfast menu and a good price to. If they done breakfasts at your other restaurants (Otterspool) I'd be there every week for the steak breakfast, very nice and reasonable to.
No proper checkin, was pointed to the end of the bar area and waited for as someone to help. This definitely could be improved. No offer to book for dinner or breakfast although we were told we could get breakfast if wanted. Room was adequate but very disappointed to find that there was no room make up service.
