For those going to visit Monet's garden at Giverny, it will be a mistake to get off the train and get in line immediately for the shuttle bus instead of walking through Vernon's downtown first. We bought a nice picnic lunch including sandwiches and dessert...at the Rose Boulangerie Patisserie, as well as other goodies in Vernon's downtown area and Wednesday market before crossing the Seine and walking on the bike/pedestrian path to Giverny. The prices, as expected, are lower than Paris prices, with larger portions. The sandwiches are filled with copious quantity of good quality ingredients. Pastry are on a par, if not better than any Paris patisserie. The macarones, however, are better than...
we saw the long series of natives who get here their evening bread and decided to check if they had sandwiches, or something for a quick, easy lunch before they had a train back to paris. they had mini quiches, very cheap and super tasty. Perfect for what we wanted. besides good brot and quiche they had sandwiches, baked and beautiful cakes that we did not try.
This lovely little patisserie is home to some of the most delicious pastries I've ever tried. They have a lot of variety, so I'm sure you'll find something you like. Don't miss it if you are in Vernon. Or, if you are heading somewhere else,...like Giverny, buy some goods to take with you!
we held a coffee on the way to giverny. we ever bought a stuffed baguette we had later lunch, but could not resist a bake with our coffee for breakfast. I had an almond croissant that was really delicious, I would like to have again for another on a daily basis if we were in vernon!

Friendly welcome, fast service, even a wide choice of pastries, breads, snacks for lunch and salad boxes to take away...Easter period, fall for the chocolate chickens, the lamb cake and the chocolate egg nests AS dessert the best to go there and taste
almost always open. fine bread and sweets and very good coffee. there are two tables and tre or four chairs. they can go coffee, but I recommend ta take a place and slow them down a few minutes.
Just fantastic! we have a box with different baked and found each to be worth it. eating was fantastic and the price fair. the personal was also friendly.
Bakery that I recommend, I ordered a raspberry for a birthday , a real delight.
