February 2022 was when I visited the restaurant. I told y'all I'm really playing catch up with my reviews. I traveled over an hour to visit this establishment, as I saw an ad online for the restaurant. The food looked really good and I'm a sucker for a good meal! I took my sister for her birthday, and we really enjoyed ourselves. Our server was Serena B. and she was super nice and friendly. She made recommendations from the menu as we explained it was our first time at the restaurant. The menu choices, I can't remember all the items, but I do remember there were some good choices. I had high expectations, but unfortunately, they were not met. The restaurant was very smoky from the kitchen, so we had to ask the staff to open the doors for some fresh air. The food was mediocre, with some dishes better than others. The wings lacked any jerk seasoning, which was disappointing. The Oxtails seemed waterlogged and lacking in flavor. The Rasta pasta had good flavor, but the lump crab was minimal. The stuffed salmon was not worth the extra cost. The coco bread and cabbage were the highlights of the meal. Overall, my experience was underwhelming and I may not return. My expectations may have been too high based on their sister restaurant.
Today, we stumbled upon a wonderfully delicious restaurant by chance. Originally planning to go to a taco shop for lunch, the enticing aromas coming from Island Spice lured us in and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and the jerk wings were a new favorite of ours. The homemade jerk sauce was flavorful and made with unique ingredients. Our meals, which included Brown stewed chicken and grilled jerk white meat chicken, were accompanied by rice and peas and grilled plantains. If you've never thought about trying island/Jamaican food before, you should definitely give Island Spice a try. It's worth it.
I recently visited Konoko and had a great experience. Our waitress recommended Island Spice, which is owned by the same people and has a similar menu. No reservations are needed at Island Spice, so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! I ordered the ackee and saltfish with rice and peas and plantains, while my friend had the oxtail with rice and peas and plantains. The portions were generous, the food was delicious and hot, and the drinks were excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff was attentive. I will definitely be returning to Island Spice in the future.

Wow! An absolute hidden jewel of a restaurant in Edgewood Maryland! We have been traveling back and forth to church services down here and never knew that this place was right on the other side of the road. We were pleasantly surprised and the food was Absolutely Delicious. Our service was excellent. Shaniqua and Manager Cecil made sure that we were well taken care of. Very Clean and well kept restaurant. Simply Beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended.
